The Lincoln University Lions compete as provisional members of NCAA Division II in basketball as independents effective in 2007. The school has not sponsored football since 1960, but will again field a varsity team beginning in 2008. Lincoln, a historically black college, is a public institution located in Lower Oxford Township, Pennsylvania, about 40 minutes east of Philadelphia. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
