The Tarleton State University Texans compete as members of the Lone Star Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Tarleton State, formerly "John Tarleton College", is a public institution located in Stephenville, Texas, about 45 minutes southwest of Fort Worth. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 6,000.
