The Newman University Jets compete as members of the Heartland Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Newman, formerly known as "Sacred Heart (KS)" and "Kansas Newman", is a private Catholic (Blood of Christ) institution located in Wichita, Kansas. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
