The Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds compete as members of the Lone Star Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Eastern New Mexico is a public institution located in Portales, New Mexico, about two hours southwest of Amarillo, Texas, and two hours northwest of Lubbock, Texas. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
