The Lakeland College Muskies compete in NCAA Division III as members of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in basketball, and as members of the Illini-Badger Conference in football. With the dissolution of the Illini-Badger Conference following the 2007 season, the football team will become inaugural members of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for football as well. Lakeland is a private non-sectarian institution located in Franklin, Wisconsin, about 45 minutes north of Milwaukee. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
