The University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals compete as members of the Heartland Conference in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Incarnate Word is a private Catholic (Augustinian) institution located in the Alamo Heights area of San Antonio, Texas. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 5,000.
