Claremont McKenna College, in conjunction with Harvey Mudd College and Scripps College since 1976, competes as the Stags (Athenas for women's teams) compete as members of the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III football and basketball. See Claremont-Mudd for athletic details between 1958-1976, and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps for athletic details since 1976. Claremont McKenna, a member of the Claremont Colleges, is a private non-sectarian institution located in Claremont, California, about a half-hour east of Los Angeles. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
