The Thomas University Night Hawks compete as members of the The Sun Conference in NAIA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Thomas, formerly Birdwood Junior College and Thomas County Community College, is a private non-sectarian institution located in Thomasville, Georgia, about 45 minutes northwest of Tallahassee, Florida. As Birdwood, the school was a Baptist institution; as Thomas County Community College it was public, then re-privatized. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
