The Aurora University Spartans compete as members of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in NCAA Division III football and basketball. Aurora is a private non-sectarian institution located in Aurora, Illinois, about a half-hour west of Chicago. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
