The Alderson-Broaddus College Battlers compete in NCAA Division II as members of the NCAA Division II Football Independents for football, and the Great Midwest Athletic Conference for basketball. Alderson-Broaddus is a private Baptist institution located in Philippi, West Virginia, about two hours northeast of Charleston. The school as currently constituted is a merger of the former Alderson Academy, whose athletic records are treated separately here, and Broaddus College, whose records are retained as part of Alderson-Broaddus's record. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
