The King's College no longer sponsors intercollegiate athletics. The school went bankrupt in 1994, and upon its return the administration opted not to pursue an athletic program, although various club teams are now in operation with an eye toward possibly re-establishing varsity status. Their teams were nicknamed the Purple Knights, but are now known as the Lions. The King's College is a private non-demoninational Christian institution located in the Empire State Building in midtown Manhattan, New York, New York. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 500.
