The Alcorn State University Braves compete as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference in NCAA Division I FCS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. Alcorn State, a historically black college, is a public land-grant institution located in the town of Lorman, Mississippi, in the southwestern corner of the state just south of Vicksburg.
