The McKendree University Bearcats compete in NAIA Division I as members of the American Midwest Conference in basketball, and in NAIA football as members of the Mid-States Football Association. In 2012, the school will move to NCAA Division II and join the Great Lakes Valley Conference in both sports. McKendree is a private Methodist institution located in Lebanon, Illinois, about 20 minutes east of Saint Louis. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
