The William Penn University Statesmen compete in NAIA Division II basketball as members of the Midwest Collegiate Conference (1988-2015), and in NAIA football as members of the Mid-States Football Association. Saint Ambrose is a private Quaker institution located in Oskaloosa, Iowa, about 45 minutes southeast of Des Moines. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
