The University of the Incarnate Word Cardinals compete as members of the Lone Star Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. In 2013-14, the school will move to the Southland Conference in NCAA Division I for all sports. Incarnate Word is a private Catholic (Augustinian) institution located in the Alamo Heights area of San Antonio, Texas. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 5,000.
