The Aurora University Spartans compete in NCAA Division III as members of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference in basketball, and as members of the Illini-Badger Conference in football. With the dissolution of the Illini-Badger Conference following the 2007 season, the football team will become inaugural members of the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference for football as well. Aurora is a private non-sectarian institution located in Aurora, Illinois, about a half-hour west of Chicago. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
