The Abilene Christian University Wildcats compete as members of the Lone Star Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. In 2013-14, the school will join the Southland Conference, a conference that the school helped found in 1963, in NCAA Division I for all sports. Abilene Christian is a private Church of Christ institution located in Abilene, Texas, about two hours west of Fort Worth. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 5,000.
