The Florida Memorial University Lions compete as members of The Sun Conference in NAIA Division II Basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Formerly known as "Florida Baptist Institute" and "Florida Normal and Industrial College", Florida Memorial, a historically black college, is a private Baptist institution located in Miami Gardens, Florida, a northwestern suburb of Miami. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
