The University of Northwestern-Saint Paul Eagles compete as members of the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III football and basketball. Northwestern is a private non-denominational Christian institution located in the northern Minneapolis suburb of Arden Hills, Minnesota. The school was known as Northwestern College until 2013. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
Northwestern's campus lies on the shoreline of Lake Johanna, with some of the campus residing in Roseville. MN 51 (aka Snelling Avenue is the nearest major road. The nearest interstate exit is 42B off I-694.
Although they share the same city, the Eagles and Bethel (MN) rarely meet in football, and occasionally in other sports. In conference, Saint Scholastica is the primary rival.
As you would expect, no one from this Northwestern has played in either the NFL or NBA. The most important person who ever had an affiliation with the school was the Reverend Billy Graham, who served as its president in the late 1940s.
