Atlantic Union College closed following the 2010-11 academic year, after the loss of its accreditation. The school had dropped its athletic programs sometime beforehand. Their teams were nicknamed the Flames. Atlantic Union was a private Seventh-Day Adventist institution located in South Lancaster, Massachusetts, about 20 minutes north of Worcester. At the time of its closing, the school had an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000. The campus in South Hadley is now used as a branch of Washington Adventist Unversity.
