The University of South Dakota at Springfield Pointers no longer compete in collegiate athletics. The school closed in 1984. At the time, the school was a member of the South Dakota-Iowa Conference and participated in NAIA basketball. USD-Springfield, formerly "Southern State College", was a public institution located in Springfield, South Dakota, about an hour and a half southwest of Sioux Falls. The campus is now the site of a state prison.
