The Xavier University Gold Rush compete as members of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference in NAIA Division I basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Xavier, a historically black college, is a private Catholic (Blessed Sacrament) institution located in New Orleans, Louisiana. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
