The Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, or MCLA Trailblazers compete as members of the Massachusetts State College Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. The school does not sponsor football. MCLA, formerly "North Adams State", is a public institution located in North Adams, Massachusetts, about 45 minutes east of Albany, New York. The school's teams were formerly known as the "Mohawks," but in 2002 the name was changed for sensitivity reasons. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
