The Alderson-Broaddus College Battlers compete as members of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (1924-2013) in NCAA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Alderson-Broaddus is a private Baptist institution located in Philippi, West Virginia, about two hours northeast of Charleston. The school as currently constituted is a merger of the former Alderson Academy, whose athletic records are treated separately here, and Broaddus College, whose records are retained as part of Alderson-Broaddus's record. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
