The Catawba College Indians compete as members of the South Atlantic Conference in NCAA Division II football and basketball. Catawba is a private Church of Christ institution located in Salisbury, North Carolina, halfway between Charlotte and Greensboro. The school retains the "Indians" nickname with the support of the Catawba Tribe. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
