The University of California, Irvine, usually referred to as "Cal-Irvine", Anteaters compete as members of the Big West Conference in NCAA Division I basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Cal-Irvine is a public institution located in Irvine, California, in the center of Orange County just inland from Newport Beach. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 19,000.
