The Peru State College Bobcats {compete as members of the Heart of America Athletic Conference in NAIA football and NAIA Division I basketball. Peru State, formerly known as "Mount Vernon School" and "Peru Seminary" and affiliated with the Methodist Church, is now a public institution located in Peru, Nebraska, about 90 minutes south of Omaha. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
