The University of Maine at Fort Kent Tigers now compete as members of the United States Small College Athletic Association; prior to its 2011 dissolution, the school competed as members of the Sunrise Athletic Conference in NAIA Division II basketball. Their home arena is the SportsCenter. The school does not sponsor football. Maine-Fort Kent is a public institution located in Fort Kent, Maine, on the Canadian border in the northern tip of the state, about six hours north of Portland and four hours east of Quebec City, Quebec. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
