The Washington Adventist College Shock compete as independents in NAIA Division I basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Washington Adventist, formerly named "Columbia Union College" and nicknamed the Pioneers, is a private Seventh-Day Adventist institution located in the northern Washington DC suburb of Takoma Park, Maryland. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
