The Spelman College Jaguars no longer compete in intercollegiate athletics as of 2012, prefering to move its athletics budget towards physical education and wellness instruction. The school last competed in the Great South Athletic Conference. As a women's college, the school did not sponsor football. Spelman, a historically black college,is a private Baptist women's institution located in the University Center area of Atlanta, Georgia. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
