The University of the Pacific Tigers compete as members of the Big West Conference in NCAA Division I basketball, but will in 2013-14, return to the West Coast Conference, of whom it was a founding member. The school has not sponsored football since 1995. Pacific, formerly known as "California Wesleyan College", is a private Methodist institution located in Stockton, California, about 45 miles south of Sacramento. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
