The Randolph Field Ramblers were one of many military installations which participated in athletics against collegiate competition. Randolph Field is a still-extant United States Air Force installation located just outside San Antonio, Texas. The Ramblers tied Texas 7-7 in the 1944 Cotton Bowl to conclude a 9-1-1 season; in 1944, the base team went 11-0 and finished ranked #3 in the AP poll.
