The Santa Fe University of Art and Design no longer sponsors intercollegiate athletics. Until 2010, the college had been known as The College of Santa Fe, and before 1966 as Saint Michael's College. The school participated in NAIA basketball until sometime in the 1980s. Their teams were nicknamed the Knights; a brief and ill-fated attempt to return athletics in 2008 saw the team use the Prairie Dogs nickname (logo shown). SFUAD is a private non-sectarian institution (although formerly a Catholic (LaSallian) school) located in the capital city of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
