The New Mexico Tech Miners formerly sponsored men's basketball, making a single appearances in the NAIA Men's Basketball Tournament. The school ceased competing on a senior college level sometime after 1946. New Mexico Tech, formerly known as "New Mexico Mines", is a public institution located in Soccoro, New Mexico, about an hour south of Albuquerque. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1500.
