Central Wesleyan College ceased operations in 1941 when the school closed due to financial difficulties. At the time, the school was a junior college, having dropped its bachelor programs in 1930. At that time, the school had been a member of the Missouri College Athletic Union, competing in basketball. Central Wesleyan was a private Metodist institution located in Warrenton, Missouri, about an hour west of Saint Louis.
