The University of Baltimore Super Bees no longer compete in collegiate athletics. The school ceased sponsoring football way back in 1935, and dropped its entire athletics program, including basketball, in 1983. Baltimore is a public institution (now a branch of the University of Maryland) located in the Mount Vernon neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,500.
The school had become an upper-division institution in 1975, which was a major factor in the eventual termination of the athletic programs. However, Baltimore transitioned back to a four-year institution with the freshman class of 2008, and time will tell whether the school chooses to once again participate in intercollegiate sport.
