Saint Louis

The Saint Louis University Billikens compete as members of the Atlantic 10 Conference in NCAA Division I basketball. The school has not sponsored football since 1949. Saint Louis is a private Catholic (Jesuit) institution located in midtown Saint Louis, Missouri. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 7,000.
The campus is located squarely in midtown, between Forest Park Avenue and Lindell Boulevard, and between Vandeventer Avenue and Compton Avenue. I-64 exits 37B (Grand Boulevard) and 38A (Forest Park Avenue) lead directly to campus, and Chaifetz Arena (10,600) sits just off the latter interchange.
Saint Louis doesn't have a main rival, per se. There are mild rivalries with most of the midwestern Catholic institutions, and North Carolina-Charlotte, as the team which joined the Billikens in moving from Conference USA to the Atlantic 10 Conference, can be seen as a rival. There are also mild rivalries with Southern Illinois and Missouri State. The real historical "rivalry" is with Washington University, located less than a mile to the west; however, as Washington is a Division III school and de-emphasized athletics after World War II, they no longer compete athletically.
