The Bethany University Bruins compete as members of the California Pacific Conference in NAIA Division II basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Bethany is a private Assemblies of God institution located in Scotts Valley, California, about a half-hour south of San Jose. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 500.
