The Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, or SIUE, Cougars compete as independents in NCAA Division I basketball effective with the 2007 season as they begin their transition from NCAA Division II. SIUE is a public institution located in the city of Edwardsville, Illinois, part of the Saint Louis metro area. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 13,000.
