The Seattle University Redhawks compete as independents in NCAA Division I basketball effective with the 2008 season as they begin their transition from NCAA Division II. The school does not sponsor football. Seattle is a private Catholic (Jesuit) institution located in the First Hill neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 4,000.
