The Wichita State University Shockers compete as members of the Missouri Valley Conference in NCAA Division I basketball. The school has not sponsored football since 1986. Wichita State, formerly known as "Fairmount College" and "University of Wichita", is a public institution located in Wichita, Kansas. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 13,000.
