The Illinois State University Redbirds compete as members of the Gateway Football Conference in NCAA Division I FCS football, and in the Missouri Valley Conference in NCAA Division I basketball. Illinois State is a public institution located in Normal, Illinois, a suburb of Bloomington. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 18,000.
