The Carlow University Celtics compete as members of the American Mideast Conference (1949-2012) in NAIA Division II basketball. In 2012-13, the university will move to the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Although co-ed, the school still has a 93% female enrollment and does not sponsor football or men's basketball. Carlow, formerly known as "Mount Mercy College", is a private Catholic (Sisters of Mercy) institution located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
