The Salem International University Tigers compete as independents in NCAA Division II basketball. The school has not sponsored football since 1988. Salem International, formerly "Salem College" and "Salem-Teikyo University", is a private non-sectarian institution located in Salem, West Virginia, about halfway between Charleston and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
