The University of Southern Maine Huskies compete as members of the Little East Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. The school does not sponsor football. Southern Maine, formerly "Gorham State", is a public institution located in Gorham, Maine, about 15 minutes west of Portland. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 11,000.
