The Carlow University Celtics compete as members of the Kentucky Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in NAIA Division II basketball. Although now co-ed, the school still has a largely female enrollment and does not sponsor football; men's basketball was finally added in 2014. Carlow, formerly known as "Mount Mercy College", is a private Catholic (Sisters of Mercy) institution located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 2,000.
