The Texas State University Bobcats compete as members of the Southland Conference in NCAA Division I FCS football and in NCAA Division I basketball. In 2012, the school will move up to NCAA Division I FBS and join the Western Athletic Conference. Texas State, formerly known as Southwest Texas State, is a public institution located San Marcos, Texas, between Austin and San Antonio. The school has an enrollment of around 28,000, including graduate students (undergraduate-only enrollment not currently available).
