The Salem College Spirits compete as members of the Great South Athletic Conference in NCAA Division III basketball. As a women's college, the school does not sponsor football or men's basketball. Salem is a private Moravian women's institution located in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, about 15 minutes west of Greensboro. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
