The Iona College Gaels compete as independents in NCAA Division I FCS football and as members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in NCAA Division I basketball. Iona is a private Catholic (Christian Brothers) institution located in New Rochelle, New York, just northeast of New York City. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 3,000.
