The Union College Bulldogs compete in NAIA Division I as members of the Appalachian Athletic Conference in basketball, and in NAIA football as members of the Mid-South Conference. Union is a private Methodist institution located in Barbourville, Kentucky, about two hours south of Lexington. The school has an undergraduate enrollment of around 1,000.
